Here are a few reminders as we enter the upcoming week. -There will be no school on Monday, January 18. -All students will continue on our current attendance plan for all grades. -Monday January 25 will begin the 3rd nine weeks. Our elective classes will rotate during this time and students will participate new elective classes. Be on the lookout for information from your teachers. -Report cards will be mailed to all families on January 28. -We have made a change to our policy concerning virtual and in-person request. If you have chosen to be virtual this year regardless of the attendance plan, and you are interested in in-person instruction, please fill out this form to be placed on a waiting list for a possible 1 to 1 switch. We were informed today that a student tested positive for COVID 19 in 1st grade. Out of an abundance of caution, 1st grade students will be quarantined for 14 days. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we strive to keep all stakeholders safe. We continue to encourage all parents to temperature scan and monitor students closely for any sign of potential illness. Students should remain at home if they are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, new or persistent cough, headache, loss of taste or smell, fatigue and/or stomach issues (diarrhea). • Reopening Plan o Our reopening plan will continue this week as it currently stands. Grades K-2 in-person and 3-8 fully virtual • Progress reports o Progress reports will be mailed to all families on Friday December, 18 • Immunizations o If we are missing your child’s immunization records, a notice will be sent along with your progress reports. South Carolina state law requires a valid SC Certificate of Immunization or valid exemption. Children without a valid certificate or exemption will not be allowed to attend school. This is required of all virtual and in-person students. • Survey o This week, there will be a parent survey sent to all families to gain feedback on schooling during COVID.

Today kicks off our Book Fair at M. Judson Booksellers in downtown Greenville. This fair will run through Sunday, December 12th. They have a wonderful selection of books for all ages and a portion of sales will benefit our school!

We have some great news to announce. Lead has officially purchased the land next door to our current building. This land will be the future home of a new gym with other details to come. We don’t have a timeline on this project yet but have begun the planning phases. Big things to come. We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

Monday 11/23 and Tuesday 11/24 will be fully virtual days for all students K-8. There will be no in-person instruction on these two days. Good Afternoon Lead, The latest DHEC report shows Greenville County numbers continue to climb into the high with significant increase range. In accordance with our Lead Academy reopening plan, starting on Monday November 9, 2020 we will phase to plan 0 which is fully virtual for students in grades 3 & 4. This will put students in grades 3-8 on plan 0. Students in grades K-2 will be on plan 4. We understand this decision causes disruption and will have a major impact on our families. We are continuing to work to preserve our youngest and most critical students with in-person instruction. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We will continue monitoring the situation weekly and proceed on a week-by-week basis.
