Parents, thank you for being patient and flexible during this challenging past year. We are quickly approaching the end of the year which means state testing for grades 3-8. This year, the state is allowing parents to opt out of testing if they do not want their student to take the test due to covid-19. What I need is for 100% of families to please fill out the form linked below as soon as possible. This will help us plan and anticipate how many students will be testing. Any questions can be directed to Mr. Willingham. https://forms.gle/6TB27G9DjQwiK9WMA

Hey Lead, I hope everyone is having a restful weekend. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, all students will remain on their current attendance plans. As we work to comply with this legislation, please look for communication this week as we begin phasing students that are currently on our in-person waiting list into the building later in the week. We will then phase students on the hybrid, two day per week schedule to a five day per week schedule. Our virtual option will still be in place through the end of this school year. We will continue to use our virtual waiting list for in-person requests. If you are fully virtual and would like to be in-person, please fill out this form by April 28. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1LI-RCLXHsRyAC8FQaAoBz2gya-kGAi8RZ3TrTsXo380/edit Thank you for your continued support as we continue to do everything in our control to provide the best possible environment for student learning.

Dear Lead Family, This has been a year filled with changes. As we bring the year to a close, there are more changes on the horizon. Before diving into the changes, we want to express our appreciation once again for the flexibility, trust, and grace that has been extended in many ways over the last year. This was yet another example of what makes Lead special. We are crew. As some of you may know, Governor McMaster just signed legislation that requires schools to offer specific attendance options. As we work to comply with this legislation, please look for communication next week as we begin phasing students that are currently on our in-person waiting list into the building. We will then phase students on the hybrid, two day per week schedule to a five day per week schedule. These transitions will be communicated during the week of April 26th-30th. Our virtual option will still be in place through the end of this school year. Unfortunately, we will not have that flexibility as we enter next year and our virtual option will not be available for the 2021-2022 school year. More information about next year will be available soon. We will continue to use our virtual waiting list for in-person requests. If you are fully virtual and would like to be in-person, please fill out this form by April 28. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1LI-RCLXHsRyAC8FQaAoBz2gya-kGAi8RZ3TrTsXo380/edit Even with the current changes, Lead Academy is committed to keeping all staff, family, and student safety as our top priority. We will continue to do everything in our control to provide the best possible environment for student learning. Thank you for your continued support. We hope to close this year in an EPIC way.

8th grade looks forward to beautifying our front entrance! As part of their study of plants they visited our neighbor Martin Garden Center and learned all about perennials, annuals, evergreens, and deciduous plants. Students learned that a well-planned planter has 3 elements: a "thriller", a "filler", and a "spiller". We look forward to the results of their work and knowledge.

At Lead Academy we desire to create EPIC leaders. Leaders exhibit empathy, perseverance, integrity, and curiosity. We are proud to share this example of one of our virtual 1st grade students demonstrating empathy. As her classmate struggled with a response, she held up her dry erase board on which she had written, "I believe in you." At Lead Academy we believe in our students. We believe that every child can achieve at an exceptionally high level.
