EPIC Leaders 2019-2020

During the 2019-2020 school year, Lead Academy began a new program to reward and highlight select students who embody the characteristics of EPIC: Empathy, Perseverance, Integrity, Curiosity. These students are voted on by their peers and affirmed by teachers and administration as being model students who also help lead others in a positive way.
We are proud to have 31 EPIC Leaders so far this year!
Our EPIC Leaders have several rewards and responsibilities, which include:
Giving shout-outs at Friday Circle!
Serving as school ambassadors. EPIC Leaders help visitors tour the school and have the chance to meet new people while introducing them to all of the important aspects of Lead Academy.
Attending special EPIC Leader meetings every other week to strengthen leadership skills and build community.
Leading school-wide initiatives, like fund-raising opportunities, community service and more.
Receiving a swag bag of awesome rewards, including books geared toward leadership, new school supplies, candy and treats, as well as free passes to the Children’s Museum of the Upstate and more!
Wearing a special EPIC Leaders-only T-shirt.
Attending an awesome reward trip!!! For the first EPIC Leader reward trip we took students to Atlanta to tour the CNN Center and get a first-hand look at how the news is produced!
In the future, we want to create opportunities for our EPIC Leaders to become more involved in our local community. Our vision is for them to not only help create a better school through their work at Lead, but to make a difference in their communities as well. We hope that this program will become one of the hallmarks of Lead Academy for years to come!
