Scarlett Sawyer

5th Grade Teacher

Hi, my name is Scarlett Sawyer and I am very excited to be a part of the Lead Academy team! I will be joining Lead Academy as one of the 5th grade teachers. Teaching is something that I have always wanted to do, and I'm thrilled to start this journey. I am from Easley, South Carolina and went to Easley High School where I took a Teacher Cadet class that solidified my decision to become a teacher. After high school, I attended the College of Charleston, where I was involved in Teaching Fellows and Phi Mu Fraternity. I completed my clinical practice and recently graduated in May of 2017 from CofC with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology.

In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and friends, bake, and go to the beach - especially trips to Charleston or Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina. I also have a passion for art. I was able to incorporate art into teaching when I interned as an art teacher at the Fine Arts Center of Easley in high school and when I worked as a camp counselor at the First Baptist School Summer Camp in Charleston.

I look forward to getting to know all of our amazing students and families and to a great year!
