Parent & Community Liaison
My name is Massiel Steadman and I am the Parent & Community Liaison for Lead Academy. My primary responsibilities are student recruitment and public relations, which also includes the roles of Community Relations, Spanish Interpreter/Translator, Admissions/Office Manager, and Fundraising. I joined the Lead Academy team in 2014 when we had just 100 students, and it has been a privilege to help grow our school family to almost 400 students! In my role, I also work to create opportunities for our students through partnerships with local organizations, and by generating exposure for our school within the local community.
I was born in Panama City, Panama and moved to Greenville with my family at the age of two. I graduated from Hillcrest High School and Southern Wesleyan University, where I earned a B.S. in Human Services. I previously worked as a Parent Involvement Coordinator for Greenville County Schools and as a Victims Advocate for the Greenville County Court system. My husband James is a teacher with Greenville County Schools, and I have two sons, Jonathan and Joshua. One of my greatest joys is helping those in need. I am a member of Greenville Rotary and I have volunteered in a variety of other roles, including mentoring for Neighborhood Focus and Goodguides, provided interpreting for the Greenville County Court system and serving at community events with Mauldin Chamber of Commerce. In my spare time, I also enjoy traveling, learning about new cultures and foods, and watching my boys play baseball.
