5th Grade Teacher
I graduated from Furman University in 2015 with a double major in political science and communications. After graduation, I joined Teach for America and had the privilege to return home to South Texas and serve my hometown community. During my two years in South Texas, I taught 10th grade English. While working, I pursued my graduate degree in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in literacy. My first two years in education sparked my passion for teaching students to become life-long readers and writers. Following my years in TFA, I relocated to Nashville and taught 6th grade literacy. My time in Nashville furthered my passion for teaching students the joys of reading and writing.
In my free time, I love to go hiking, read, and spend time with family and friends. After three years away, I am so excited to move back to the upstate, and to the community that gave so much to me. I am thrilled to be joining the LEAD team for the 2018-2019 school year!
